EFFECT OF Pb (II), Ni (II) AND Cd (II) ON BIOSORPTION OF Cr (III) ION FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTIONS BY LUFFACYLINDRICA FIBRE: IMPLICATIONS ON THE THERMODYNAMIC OF THE ADSORPTION OF INORGANIC POLLUTANTS STUDIES.

Author: F . J . AMAKU & I .A . OKORO

Umudike, Nigeria

Abstract: Biosorption of both synthetic single and binary metal ions solutions unto luffa cylindricalfibre has been studied using the batch adsorption equillibrum method, in which the thermodynamic parameter has been evaluated. The optimum temperature for the biosorption of Cr, Cr-Ni, Cr-Cd and Cr-Pb metal systems are 27 oC, 27 oC, 27 oC, 40 oC respectively. The thermodynamics of the sorption data indicates that ΔGO values were. .................Read more

Abstract: Antibiotics are widely used for treatment of bacterial causing diseases. But indiscriminate use of antibiotics has developed microbial resistance and it is becoming a major issue in health problem all over the world. There are many ways to treat infectious diseases and one of them is use of plant extracts in combination with antibiotics as novel concept. This study was done to evaluate combination effect of methanol extract of Eucalyptus................Read more

THE DEVELOPMENT OF THE FOREST POCKETS IN THE COASTAL DISTRICTS, COULD ENHANCE ECONOMIC PROFITIBILITY, AESTHETIC BEAUTY, AND ENVIRONMENTAL SUSTAINABILITY THROUGH THE PROCESS OF ENVIRONMENTAL MANAGEMENT IN SINDH.

Author: Bashir Ahmed Abbasi

Sindh, Pakistan

Abstract: The systematic and continuous degradation of environment raised certain fundamental questions regarding the ever-increasing temperature, deforestation, and deteriorating ecosystem. In this respect certain minor actions could enhance the efficiency of environmental services and management to repair the losses incurred on the local environment as air, noise pollutions and soil erosion. The idea of creation of smaller pockets of forests ..................Read more

THE POTENTIAL EFFECT OF GINKGO BILOBA EXTRACT ON DEVELOPMENT OF CATARACT IN SELENITE INDUCED CATARACT RAT PUPS.

Author: Nageuib A, Anhar M. Gomaa, Mohamed S. Al-Balkini & Aalaa Mohee

Giza, Egypt

Abstract: Present study focuses on the isolation of flavonoids from Ginkgo biloba to investigate the role of different concentrations of Ginkgo biloba (Gb) extract (40, 60, 100 mg/kg body weight) in the prophylaxes or delay the development of cataract in the selenite induced cataract rats. Seventy five of neonatal rat pups were obtained from the animal house of the Research Institute of Ophthalmology, Giza, Egypt. All rats fed on basal diet..................Read more

PHYTOREMEDIATION OF CYANIDE AND PHENOL FROM WASTEWATER BY E.CRASSIPES
(WATER HYACINTH).

Author: Anupama Kumari & Dr. C.B Majumder

Roorkee, India

Abstract: Cyanide and Phenol are most dangerous pollutants for the environment which discharges from various industries such as coke industry. In the present study cyanide and phenol were removed from the industrial wastewater using E.Crassipes by phytoremediation process. Study was conducted at controlled environmental conditions such as 25 temperature and 75 % relative humidity. Phytoremediation of cyanide and ..................Read more
