Ring opening polymerization of ε-caprolactone by Schiff base metal complex.
Author: A.Sowkath, Mansur Ahmad and R.Anbarasan
Abstract: Synthesis of materials with antimicrobial property is a fascinating field of research in material science. In this category, biologically active triazine based Schiff base (SB) was prepared and made complex with Cu metal ion and characterized by Fourier Transform Infra Red (FTIR) spectroscopy and electron spin resonance (ESR) techniques. Further, the metal complex was subjected to initiate the ring opening polymerization (ROP) of ε-caprolactone (CL). The metal complex conjugated poly(caprolactone) (PCL) was synthesized at various [M/I] ratio at 160oC................Read more
Biomass Yield and Chemical Composition of Maize (Zea mays) Fodder Using Compost as Fertilizer.
Authors: Md. Hasabul Islam, A.B.M. Kawsar Ahmed and Md. Fahad Jubayer
Abstract: The experiment was carried out by using compost on maize fodder production. Maize fodder was cultivated at 4 levels of compost viz. 0, 5, 10, and 12 ton/ha in a Randomized Block Design having three replications in each treatment. The unit plot size of each replication was 4m x 2.5m. The fodder plant height, circumference of stem were measured every fortnightly. The fodder was harvested at the pre-flowering stage at 77 days after sowing (DAS). The average yield, number of leaves, and leaf area of green forage was recorded. The proximate composition of fodder for each treatment was determined. The result showed that height of the plant significantly................Read more
Compatibility among Insect Predators and Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) against the two forms of Tetranychus urticae in Greenhouses.
Author: 1Rania Ahmed Abd El-Wahab, Sanja Lazic and Vojislava Bursic
Abstract: Light Emitting Diodes (LEDs) improved predation of Scolothrips sexmaculatus Pergande and Stethorus punctillum Weise on both morphs of Tetranychus urticae Koch under greenhouses circumstances effectively. The successful contribution of LEDs in biological control depending mainly on certain color of each predator, which able to attract it to specific pest.
S. sexmaculatus attracted to the red form ,infested strawberry , mainly under blue LEDs and caused highly reduction of the pest by 89.61 and 92.32%..................Read more
