Antagonistic Activity of Trichoderma Spp, (A Bio-Control Agent) Against Isolated and Identified Plant Pathogens.

Authors: Meenakshi Kushwaha and Ajay Kumar Verma

Abstract: There is a great problem of farmers to protect their food crops from pathogenic microbes. Some fungi play a major role to have an effect on the crop’s yield and survival. On visiting farmer’s field in bakshi ka talab lucknow, some diseased crop plant and their fruits have been found. After screening the diseased area of sampled crop plants causal fungi get isolated and identified morphologically in the laboratory. The isolated and purified pathogenic fungi are Chollatotrichum from red rot of sugarcane, Alternaria from brown-black discoloration of cauliflower................Read more

Optimization of Water-Allocation Networks with Multiple Contaminants using Genetic Algorithm.

Author: Md. Alauddin

Abstract: This is to show that Genetic Algorithm can be used effectively to solve water allocation network problems. In this paper a multi-contaminant problem discussed by Li & Chang [1] has been taken and Genetic Algorithm is used to optimize the model for minimization of freshwater consumption. The freshwater consumption was found to be 104.91 (t/h) which is comparative to Li & Chang that reported as 105.67 (t/h). The model has been written in a different................Read more

Study Of The Nutritinal Value And Antimicrobial Activeity Of Juice Extracted From Watermellon Waste.

Author: Amit Prakash Choudhary

Abstract: Watermelon (Citrullus lanatus (Thunb.), family Cucurbitaceae) can be both the fruit and the plant of a vine-like (scrambler and trailer) plant originally from southern Africa, and is one of the most common types of melon. This flowering plant produces a special type of fruit known by botanists as a pepo, a berry which has a thick rind (exocarp) and fleshy center (mesocarp and endocarp); pepos are derived from an inferior ovary. We have prepared the juice from.................Read more

Haploid Production in Higher Plant.

Authors: Vijay Kumar Mishra and Rachna Goswami

Abstract: Majority of higher plants are outbreeding, highly heterozygous and undergo a long developmental period before reaching their reproductive stage. Traditional breeding and cross-pollinating procedures are both unpredictable and time-consuming. Haploids are plants with a gametophytic chromosome number and doubled haploids are haploids that have undergone chromosome duplication, represent a particularly attractive biotechnological................Read more

Effects of Dichlorvos on Reduced Glutathione, Glutathione S-Transferase and Lipid Peroxidation of Egg Laying Hens.

Authors: E.U. Ezeji and T.E Ogbulie

p align="justify">Abstract: Reduced glutathione (GSH) and Glutathione S-transferase (GST) play important roles in the detoxification of several xenobiotic compounds, including pesticides. This study was carried out to access the effect of the organophosphate pesticide, dichlorvos on the activities of GSH, GST as well as lipid peroxidation of egg laying hens. Seven weeks old pullets weighing between 400-600 g divided into four groups of 10 birds each were fed on commercial poultry feeds...............Read more
